Lower Tor Cot enjoys a commanding position offering panoramic views towards Dartmoor and Haldon Ridge. It is on a steep hill at the edge of the friendly village of Marldon with its ancient church, pubs, shops and post office. It is an ideal base for exploring the miles of stunning coastline, beaches and coves of the South Devon coast, known as the English Riviera, and the coastal holiday resorts of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The historic town of Totnes with its delightful arts and craft shops, restaurants, cafes and weekly markets is nearby. Totnes has many buildings of historical, architectural or archaelogical interest including the Norman Castle, the splendid Tudor East Gate Arch and merchants houses. River boat trips run regularly from Totnes to Dartmouth and a steam railway runs along a scenic route from Totnes to Buckfastleigh. |
